THREAD -- Former USPS Governor David Williams provided explosive testimony at our @USProgressives hearing yesterday. He documented a corrupt, long-running sabotage of USPS by right-wing officials seeking to destroy the postal service as a public good.

He also said that Mnuchin also sought to impose a pricing practice that “would be ruinous for the Postal Service” and significantly impair its ability to compete in the package delivery market.
On DeJoy's hiring, he told us that DeJoy’s name was put forward by GOP board member John Barger. He said the hiring process was rigged—DeJoy couldn’t answer basic interview questions, was coached during the interview process & no background check was conducted before his hiring.
Williams also told us that at the time of his departure this spring, USPS had full confidence in their ability to facilitate vote-by-mail in this election. Now, just months later, USPS has informed 46 states & DC that mail-in ballots may not arrive in time to be counted.
