The 5 things I tell myself during this lockdown to stay positive...
1. You are lucky. You have a home, you have work, and you are in an industry where you can work from home. There are people around you who don’t have 1, forget all 3 of these.
2. This is your chance to shine. Half of the Fortune 500 companies were born out of a crisis. Leaders are born out of these times, because it is in chaos that your chutzpah shines.
3. It is fine to have years of slow business or financial growth. You have good years and you plan well, for these rainy days. So take the time to watch the rain, if not dance in it.
4. You can not control 90% of what’s in the news - the virus, the locusts, the economy at large, the markets. Focus on what you can control at work and at home, and zoom out of everything else.
5. You are not alone. You have the best network of family, friends and colleagues. They are there to listen, when you need help. It is for you to reach out and ask.
P. S. Wine, chocolate cake, and coffee are still available in a lockdown!
