Remember this? From 2006, the @sunjournal refused to endorse the GOP candidate for governor because of 10 tax liens on his property.

With that context, have we got a story for you...

Maine's Speaker of the House Sara Gideon and her husband ran a condo investment company out of their home that went belly up to the tune of about $3 mil. The failed venture led to $57,000 in unpaid taxes, 77 tax liens, and foreclosure.

Their company, Concord Brook LLC, failed to pay $57k in property taxes, and 77 liens accrued. All of this happened while Sara was on the Freeport Town Council.

So while the Gideons' business was blowing off their taxes, guess what Sara did?

#mepolitics
You guessed it -- Sara voted to RAISE property taxes in Freeport, every year.

While her family business skipped their taxes, Sara Gideon raised everyone else's.

But that's not all.

The same bank that gave the Gideon's a $4mil construction loan to develop the condos ended up foreclosing on the properties, and buying them back for $622,000

Just 5 months after paying off their tax liens, the Gideons went to a different bank, and took out a $788,000 mortgage to buy "Cadence Cove," a $1.4 million oceanfront estate in South Freeport with a 300' dock.

And this situation doesn't seem to be over. Though she failed to report it in her initial financial disclosure, the Gideons still have a loan from the foreclosing bank from 2008 - a 0%, "on demand" loan for between 50k-100k.

Lots of questions about this situation that need to be asked. But one thing's for sure -- Sara Gideon raised taxes on everyone else while failing to pay her own.

One more example of Sara Gideon thinking the rules don't apply to her. That's #GideonsWay
