I've been asked to give a statement regarding recent events in the horror community. As I'm close friends with both parties involved, it's been difficult for me to watch everything unfold. No one has made me feel like I need to pick sides, nor do I think it would come to that.

I haven't said too much because I'm very much in the middle and close to both parties, as I mentioned. Here's what I will say: I love and support both women no matter what. I admire their tenacity, sincerely, and kindness. I see those qualities in both of them.

I also think both sides could have handled things differently, but no one is perfect and I've always valued and respected progress over perfection. And I've seen a great deal of growth and progress. I hate the idea of anyone hurting and hope for the best for everyone.

I know some of you were hoping to hear me take a specific side or join in on the events somehow, but this is the truth. I'm speaking from my heart. Both women are some of the sweetest people I know and have been big parts of my life. I love them. I love this community.

Anyway, that's my statement. I harbor no ill will or resentment and my heart aches for anyone hurt or upset right now. I don't think I'll be talking much more about this but I know that not making a statement would have been a mistake too, so here I am. Be kind to each other.
