The Power of Buying Right + Sitting Tight is just incredible.
The quote I like the most (on this topic)-
To make money in stocks you must have the "the vision to see them, the courage to buy them & the patience to hold them". Patience is the rarest of the three. George F. Baker

My Process
Identification of Quality/Durable Co's with plenty of growth left.
Buying at decent Valuation (or a small position in seemingly over-valued, but a small Co that you still believe a lot in)
Maintenance Due-diligence (on key Business/Financial/Mgmt metrics)

@chriswmayer's great article on this topic. Although it's well known by now, it's worth repeating that his "100 Baggers" book is one of the Top 10 books for individual investors to maximize their potential.

Ahmad Jivraj @mrjivraj's blog about Coffee Cans and Portfolios has been a very interesting read.

@davidgfool
is the person that inspired me the most in letting the Winners run. His extremely long holding periods & mind-boggling returns are definitely something to aspire to.
$AMZN (1000x, 23yrs)
$NFLX (250x, 18yrs)
$TSLA (60x, 9ys)
$SHOP (50x , 4yrs)
$ISRG, $MELI & more.

Individual investors (after good selection) & right mindset definitely have some advantages
-Letting the winners run, no strict rules for Portfolio weighting
-No need to answer for inactivity w.r.t a position (that's working)
-No out-flows pressure during Volatility & Bear Mkts.

Yes, before someone points out that I'm only highlighting big winners, I had 4-5 major losers over the last 10 years (RIG, SDRL, MT, UA, CPRI - all 50 to 99% losses) but they all matter much less now (more than compensated by the 1 or 2 of these big winners).
As long as you don't add money to losers (after knowing the underlying Co is also weakening) and also get some lessons out of them to make your selection/process better in the future, understand that it's part of a long-term investing process and is to be expected.
Purchases from 2019/2020, even big winners like $W $ETSY $PINS $DOCU $TTD $ROKU $TWLO $ZS are not shown as the holding period is too short
The main point of this thread is to show the incredible power of time and compounding when they are aligned with great Co's and the right investing mindset.
May you have many multi-baggers in your journey.
