Small Thread about Rajini vs Vijay. Intention is to make few folks understand why there is a tough fight required to reach Rajini’s throne – “The SuperStar” and it is not something one’s fan can claim it just like that.

Note: Due to space constraints and to make writing easier, in some places I would have just mentioned Rajini or Vijay. Forgive me if this hurt’s anyone's sentiment.
Firstly, it’s not fair to compare an actor of age 46 (Vijay) with an actor of age 70 (Rajini) who is still on field. Obviously Rajini will have more data points due to the experience and number of movies acted.
So to make a fair argument, I am considering Rajini’s movies only till the age of 46. Even then, Vijay started his career at the age of 18 whereas Rajini started his career at the age of 25.
So, at the age of 46, Vijay is on field for 28 Years whereas Rajini would have been only 21 Years on field when he was 46 years of age. Still, Lets continue with the comparison and I am confident that this 7 years difference will not impact anything.
Rajini was introduced on the year 1975 and Vijay’s first film was on the year 1992. Let us not talk about how and through what means they both got chances, that’s not important and then this thread will turn into a typical fan fight. So, let me not do that.
From 1975, It took only 3 years for Rajini to reach his 25th Film (1978) whereas on the otherside Vijay needed 8 Years to reach his 25th Film. This will be the first point, why Rajini’s was called as “Super Star” – 25 movies in just 3 years, can you imagine?
Not only this, the next 50th Film mark – he reached in the next year (1979). 25 Films in just 1 year. Can you name any actor in this generation who can do this magic? “Thalapathy” Vijay took 18 years to reach his 50th Film (2010)
In simpler Terms, in 4 years, Rajini completed 50 movies whereas for Vijay it took 18 years to complete 50 movies. Do I need point out again, why Rajini is the “SUPER STAR” and no one can near him?At the time of completing 50 Movies, Rajini’s age was 29 whereas Vijay’s age was 36
As I mentioned the initial 7 years delay never impacts “super star - Rajinikanth”.
Next, the 75th Movie milestone. In another 3 years Rajini again completed 75 movies. Vijay already another 10 years passed, not completed 75 movies and his 64th movie itself is yet to get released

So, he has another 10 movies to reach the 75 movie milestone. Rajini’s age was 32 when he completed 75 movies whereas Vijay’s age is 46 and he is yet to reach “65” movies. Understood the difference?
With 28 years of on-field experience Vijay has still not crossed the 7 years on-field experienced Rajini. This is a huge difference and that is why “Rajini” is the real super start and one & only Super star.
There are other strong points like during that time itself, when Internet was a dream , lack of youtube etc etc, Rajini managed to reach the sets of Hollywood plus he acted in multiple languages. But we will talk about all these when the time comes.
Instead of fighting for his place, let your career be a bench mark to others. Rajini’s place is high above the sky and don’t try to reach there as you already lost the battle and your actor is already behind 21 years when compared to “Rajini”.
That’s why Actor Vijay itself has called out in many instances, “Super star” means its one and only “Rajinikanth” and no one else.
In the same means,“Thalapathy” means its one and only “Vijay”. I respect him and love his movies. But at the same time, I thought it’s someone’s duty to explain the history to the current generation who keep crying about this untouchable title “SuperStar”.
Finishing note: Rajini reach his 100th film in just 10 years. Just calculate how much years it will take for your actor to reach that number before you post "Vijay" as next "Superstar" in upcoming tweets..
