The Siberian city of Omsk, where Navalny in currently in coma, is about 4,200 kilometers (2,500 miles) east of Berlin, roughly a six-hour flight.

An air ambulance sent from Germany with all the necessary equipment is waiting at Omsk airport to take Navalny to Berlin's Charité.
"We... took the decision that we don't oppose his transfer to another hospital," deputy chief doctor at the Omsk hospital, Anatoly Kalinichenko, told journalists. He said Navalny's condition had "stabilized" and his wife and brother "took the risks on themselves" for moving him.
To begin with, German doctors flew in to evacuate Navalny, 44, at the request of his wife and supporters, who said they feared Russian authorities might try to cover up clues as to how he fell ill, and said the hospital treating him was badly equipped.
