In this I proposed how we could lineup with a 343 *IF* we signed Koulibaly + Aouar. I like this personally. I'd bring Angelino back to challenge Mendy as a wing-back w/Cancelo as RWB. Inverted wingers would work well then too. Aouar & KDB both dynamic, Ake stepping into mid too.
I suspect many wouldn't like that, fair enough, but I think it could be quite good. We'd have lots of variations available. I like the idea of one of the CBs stepping a bit more central when we have the ball perhaps to allow KDB/other midfielder to roam forward.
In terms of Walker, if it's four at the back, it's him every day. But wing-backs? I think Cancelo offers more going forward personally. Also, I'd not see the need for Zinchenko. If we want an inverted LB, then surely Ake's a better option. Stronger, faster, better defender etc.
And presumably in that scenario, if Ake can do what Zinc can does, and we no longer need an inverted LB opition, i'd rather have Angelino over Zinc instead as an alternative personally. Think he's proven himself as a good player in a wing-back system. Just my opinion of course.
That 343 when we HAVE the ball would look sumat like this for me. One of the CBs stepping a bit higher to pick up any looks balls, the others splitting, with the wing-backs further forward, and then KDB/Aouar keeping an eye on the channels a bit. Might not work, but im no Pep :)
