After years of being a Christian creator, listening to what's happening in the creative spheres, seeing the work other Christians are creating in a variety of media, I can assure everyone of this:
Christians *are* creating.
Furthermore, we're creating *quality.*
Christians *are* creating.
Furthermore, we're creating *quality.*
I've seen ideas, pitches, art, stories, comics, novels and games that are solid in concept and execution. They are far above the bar set by contemporary mainstream entertainment.
Christians are creative, and are creating entertaining, appealing stories and art with skill.

The breakdown between creation and audience in the entertainment pipeline is not on the creators' end.
It's not that the audience doesn't want entertainment created by Christians, either. Every day I hear more people clamoring for better stories like the ones I know exist.

There is supply, & room for more.
There is demand, which could grow.
Where is the rest of the pipeline?
Where is the infrastructure to deliver to the audience?
Back where we left it - in literal enemy territory
The entertainment *industry* has no intention of letting us return.

We either retake that field, or we build a parallel, better one, that isn't just for approved Christians & our insider culture, but for everyone.
And I don't want to hear any pearl-clutching gasping about how secular entertainment isn't holy enough. It's outreach & service.

Whatever I do, if I do it for God's glory, is holy work.
If that is true of changing diapers, teaching children, & cooking dinner, then it can be true of writing books, painting pictures, & making cartoons.
Kids who'd never go to church look to the wider culture for examples.

The children of this generation need us there in entertainment and arts, in the wider secular culture, to be a stable, reliable source of normalcy, courage, and hope.
We don't get there by being angry at being shut out.
We must rebuild what we abandoned.

It's easy to say nobody's creating, or there's no audience, or that we're shut out. These things are all visible, understandable, and someone else's fault.
But for this to change, we have to take accountability first. We must examine the invisible causes & fix them.

Ask *why* these things are so. Ask why that caused the problem. Ask why the root cause came about. Think! And find out if what you think is true.
What is wrong with the pipeline? How can we repair or route around it? Who's working on that now? How can we help?
We can do this.
