There are these moments in American history when the government has been involved in these high-profile violent clashes with civilians. Ruby Ridge, Waco - you know the stories by now. But what is becoming clearer to me is how the collateral damage of those instances was so wide.
So a kid at 12 started forming a story in his mind about the American government and violence. Every time the government responds to people with violence, people return with violence. This is not new, and it's not unique to the Trump era. It’s a never-ending circle.
