1. One of the survival skills I've developed in the past few years is knowing instinctively which videos to not continue watching. My mental state has improved by leaps and bounds because I now don't keep watching videos that I know will do nothing but enrage me...
2. Instead of getting angry and fuming I now have the space to consider why I am reacting the way I am, and, if I can articulate why, I find a way to solve it. Most often, this takes the form of a micro donation to a cause that is fighting whatever was trying to piss me off.
3. If it was a piece of misinformation about Covid 19, I donate a couple of bucks to a fact checking non profit. If it's some DRM related story or anything to do with privacy, some organisation working on those issues gets a little boost.
4. I don't always do it, just when I recognize that I'm getting riled up. But when it does happen, man it feels good to spend that money. Even if it's just coffee money. The unproductive rage is now channeled towards something positive.
5. Just putting this out there as a sort of life hack to make yourself feel better, if anyone is in the same space as I was.
