1/ One thing I find interesting about Tesla, and admittedly I find less and less interesting about Tesla as the years go on, is how much TSLAQ has aided in the continuation of the story. It's the age-old story of the boy who cried wolf.
2/ There are a lot of smart people involved in TSLAQ, and they have raised some real interesting questions. There is a lot Tesla does that if nothing else deserves deeper inquiry.
3/ But there is also a tendency by some involved in TSLAQ to scream "FRAUD" every time Musk orders lunch. There is a long list of public companies that do everything in their power to spin news the way that works best for them. Tesla is no exception.
4/ That's not to excuse all of Tesla's stunts. As I said there is a lot about that company that deserves scrutiny. But I think the screams of fraud have the net impact of minimizing the serious concerns.
5/ There are so many people constantly crying "WOLF" on Tesla that it provides the company with some cover. It provides plenty of straw men for defenders to combat instead of having to answer tough questions about serious concerns.
6/ This isn't TSLAQ's fault. As I said there are a lot of smart people involved raising interesting questions. But I do think an unintended consequence of the amount of noise is it has muddied the waters enough that many of those questions never end up getting answered.
To wit, I've already received a DM with some profanity basically saying that the writer assumes I now find it more profitable to praise Musk than to bash him.

DMs now closed again...
