my job is to quality check and deploy curriculum to online schools in the us and i was just reviewing a phys ed course and one of the questions on this quiz is to put your BMI and your goal BMI.... for 7th grade gym class.... this is so fucked up

this LITERALLY causes eating disorders. at such an age where everything has an impact on you... i feel so bad to the poor kid who this is going to break
oh also, BMI is an outdated system that does not and never has held legitimacy. it is based on white bodies first of all, and no one human is the same as the other in how they hold weight. not only that, but it doesn’t even account for muscle weight. it’s baseless.
