THE SINNER SAVED BY GRACE IS DEAD (that thread😅)
This thing about being a sinner saved by grace or having two natures, according to the Bible is completely false. You see, the Bible tells us a compelling story about God, who just wanted a family. He had billions of beings at his service but no one to fellowship with.
During the recreation of the world He decided to fix that and He (re)created Man but this time in His own image and after His own likeness for fellowship with Him. That’s why Jesus came, not just to save us from sin, that’s not an end goal, that’s not a purpose.
The goal is fellowship. 1 John 1:3 states that the reason the disciples declared what they had seen is for us to have fellowship with God. He always wanted a family.
Okay so that’s sweet and all but what does that have to do with us being sinners sis?
We’re going into basic Greek terminology so stay with me lol
Alright so God made Adam.
When Adam was created he was created with the natural life, psychē.
Now that life is corruptible. It’s not “waterproof” so because Adam did the ONE THING he wasn’t supposed to do 🙄🙄 sin entered and became his nature.
Now a lot of people think that God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden because he was angry and wanted them out of their sight but that makes no sense because God is God... he’s everywhere. You can’t really be outside of his presence. Even though that connection was lost.
The damage was done, the relationship was broken before Adam even left the Garden. So that’s definitely not why Adam and Eve were driven away.
It was actually because of the tree of life (Gen 3:22). Something interesting about that tree is that it carries a special life called zoē. That life is the very life of God. It’s an incorruptible life, nothing can penetrate it. It’s “waterproof”.
This is why Adam needed to be driven away. If that life were to come in contact with the nature of sin, that nature of sin would be “locked in”. Man would’ve been irredeemable.
Now... our old man was crucified with Christ that the body of sin might be destroyed. (Romans 6:6)
But what happened during the crucifixion?
The sins of the world were laid on Jesus, every single on of them. And this was before Jesus died. The old man died with Jesus.
So that means that the sin of the old man was laid on Jesus before he died. The old man would’ve then be free from sin. That is the sinner saved by grace. Great!! Right??? Humanity’s restored.
Well yeah... but calm down first. That’s just Adam before the fall at best if you consider the very nature of sin was taken away. Also as this old man is happy that he’s free from sin he dies. THE SINNER SAVED BY GRACE DIED. So that’s that. Justice has been served.
But you know that initial reason for mankind hasn’t been accomplished yet. Where’s the fellowship? Where’s the oneness? Where’s the communion? Where’s the fatherhood of God? We’re almost there...
This is where the resurrection comes in. Jesus rose from the dead and being the substitute he rose in our place. One thing though, the old man stayed dead, so what came out of the grave is a new creature.
Who’s this new creature?
Let me introduce him to you. He’s got the nature of righteousness and that nature is sealed with zoē. That incorruptible life I spoke about earlier. So that nature is locked in. It’s not psychē that can be corrupted by sin. It’s zoē.
I said a few days ago that sinning doesn’t mean you have the sin nature. This is why. Sin can’t enter the new creation the way it entered Adam. Zoē is sin proof.
Now, with the old man dead and new creation, that sin nature is nowhere to be found.
But all this is legal talk.
And the same way Adam had a choice so do you. What Jesus did cannot apply to you unless you let it apply to you. You won’t benefit from a check you won’t cash in.
So basically either you have psychē and the sin nature or you have zoē and righteousness.
The new creation isn’t forgiven, or free from sin. He is justified and sin-free in fact righteous. There’s two types of men... no hybrids.
So now that I have said all of this... if you are not born again, what are you waiting for??? Salvation is like a check with your name on it just waiting to be used. It’s a free gift from God to YOU because He loves YOU personally.
All you need to do is believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins and was raised for your justification and confess His Lordship over your life. And then you’ll be completely recreated and you’ll be in the Kingdom of light.
Just say this short prayer but mean it with all your heart❤️
