Some £2.6billion of contracts were handed out in June alone.

But public services struggled because the Government has repeatedly stripped them of funds and capacity - and have continued to prefer that state rather than invest and empower them.

Also, through many of these contracts, as @rowlsmanthorpe has pointed out the Government has been making free with OUR data as patients and beyond as contract sweeteners for pals and cronies.
A couple of days ago we discovered that McKinseyhad been given a licence to use our data for 7 years as part of a Test and Trace associated contract.
