I’m genuinely trying to understand and accept my parents and their sibilings active support for Trump but it’s honestly a slap in the face and getting hard to handle.

Everyone has a right to their vote but how can a decent human being vote for that man?
They say because they’re military (literally my entire family) and don’t want the US to end up like “Venezuela” 🤯 they have to vote republican.

I’ve literally been told “I don’t watch the news and I don’t care what’s happening, I know who I’m voting for”
Meanwhile, here I am, a female married to a Latino who can’t enter the US because of the current administration, doing my best to educate people who are my “family” on why their single vote will greatly impact MY life, and millions of others.

They don’t want to listen.
I have so much respect for Rebublicans who have been able to educate themselves and vote against Trump in the fall. And for people who have put in the work and actually gotten a breakthrough having these difficult conversations with family. It’s not easy.
Most of my family is very privileged & I don’t believe this election will impact their lives - no matter who wins.

Which is what *absolutly* blows my mind. When your life isn’t going to be affected, but you could take an action to help so many others, how could u choose not to?
I will keep trying but I’m real concerned for my relationships with my family between now and November.

Teetering between being respectful of their right to vote and taking their choice of who they’re voting for very, very personally.
But anyways,
