Yes, the rumours are true, Movers is returning for the rest of 2020!
@sarah_miele and I have created a host of new delivery models the wonderful Movers Group to inspire a flurry of ideas and present multiple opportunities share, explore, and maintain their movement practices.
For those who aren't familiar with Mover Group, it's a artistic development collective of people who work with Movement. In each session a different member leads a session, and those attending explore the work so it is development for everyone.
The programme is led by the offers and ideas of our members who create sessions to share, explore, and maintain the practices of everyone involved. It is not a class, it is a two-way process that broadens all Movers skills and experiences. It's a delight that we've missed!
So, coming out of lockdown, we want the next three months of Movers Group to be restorative as well as an opportunity to stretch ourselves. We can’t wait to see what you come up with to populate these six new models of working together.
On with the reveal!
CLASSIC MOVERS GROUP
This is the Movers Group we know and love. Lasting just an hour now over Zoom, this is an opportunity to share, explore and maintain movement practices of new ideas and tools. Equally it can be a chance to test out old content with a new virtual delivery mode
MOVERS APPETISERS
A creative prompt at the start of the month to spark up to a minute of material to reawaken the creative mind. Given a whole month of self-led time, we will begin each Classic Movers with a sharing of micro-works to celebrate moments of creativity.
CREATIVE FITNESS CLASSES
A chance to rebuild strength, stamina and flexibility as we begin to move creatively again. A whole month of one 30 min class a week led by Movers, it's a new supportive and encouraging community to use those muscles we may have forgotten during lockdown
SLOW MOVERS
For some, the chance to slow down during lockdown is a welcome surprise. Slow Movers is a chance to feed that into our work with 3-5 days of 20 minute sessions for relaxed working. Perhaps it's a discussion, then a task, then a sharing? The outcome is up for grabs.
SPEED SHARE
Four Movers have 15 min each to share a new skill/game/tool/other in a rapid-fire session of sharing, exploring and testing. Juggling? Yoga? Zoom game? Choreo tool? Here's where we test ourselves and have fun doing it! Designed for those not feeling ready to lead 1hr.
WEDNESDAY WALK
An invitation to spend time in real life going on a walk with Movers through natural spaces. Here we can share, enjoy, reflect, and be others and the space between our bodies.
Two walks will happen in Glasgow, with the option for other walks led by Movers elsewhere
