A thread on fear of failure.
More than useless it's detrimental, and often becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy:
More than useless it's detrimental, and often becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy:
1. Creates significant bias towards what can go wrong, and makes you forget what can go right. This often creates an overload which clouds your thinking. Cognitive dissonance becomes king.
2. Takes you away from the moment. Energy that would otherwise be spent on joyful activities is now spent worrying about even the most remotely possible points of failure for the feared situation.
Positive resources stop feeding positively into your loop.

3. On significantly bad cases your sleep might become compromised by the overload the fear is causing.
This leads to worse decision making which in turn increases the likelihood of failure.
