All the men terming it as celebration of womanhood, can you please for once stop owning something you never experienced & look at what women has to say?
1. This age old practice led to women being objectified. It dates back to times when girls used to get married at 7-8.

2. Back then it used to be organized for telling world their girl is sex ready, already married or not.
3. People today still keep asking mothers, if their girl has menstruated yet. Girls who menstruate late are considered carrying bad luck. Imagine the societal pressure.

4. Menstruation is real pain. When it’s for the first time, it’s traumatizing. To sit & get stared for hours, by family & even strangers when you are bleeding is no way celebration.
5. The reason most of the girls don’t express all this is plain fear & innocence, not acceptance.

6. They are groomed for years to act shy & excited. Add to it the perks that come with, once the celebration is done. Girls are asked to sit separate for around 10-12 days as if they are untouchable.
7. People keep inquiring mothers about their menstrual cycle & related stuff.

8. Menstruating women are not allowed to roam around freely and family starts putting restrictions on their interactions with men around.
There is much more to add but since I am finding it tough to put my thoughts coherently, I think I should stop it here.

To all the women speaking out openly, my salute! Pardon me if there are any mistakes, you people are better judges!
Thanks for presenting your point respectfully & agreeing about freedom. 2 things:
1. How's it pride? Is it because woman need validation from public?
2. Parents getting their daughter married isn't wrong but at 7-8, it's definitely the worst part of history so yeah it's wrong.
