1 Corinthians 3:3 CJB says "For you are still worldly! Isn't it obvious from all the jealousy and quarrelling among you that you are worldly and living by merely human standards?"
This verse, Many Christians ignore and think that Paul isn't talking to them but just the Corinthians church only. That's not true! Paul "You are still worldly if you live by merely human standards"
This is powerful! Because this shows us how we can detect those who are still worldly. We see Christians that have patterned their lives according to Worldly standards and not the World.
The World set a Standard and an Idea for them and they live by it. Example the World will say if you are 30years and married it means something is wrong with you, then You'd see a Christian so worried and bothered about this, ahhhh! Is that what the Word of God says?
Some Christians have followed humans standards so much that Spiritual standards make no sense to them at all. They only go for things that make them feel good even when it despises the Word. The message Translation says
As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything's going your way? (1 Corinthians 3:3)
When you only do things that make you look important, you are still carnal,

You still reason like the World. Example You see a Christian calling out another Christian in Public when correcting the Christian. Many times the reason this is done is not really to correct the person but to look more important and more Knowledgeable than the other.
If you do this, it's time to grow up!. I Love How the TLB puts it

In essence, you are still a Babe if you are still controlled by your own desires.

These type of Christians hardly receive answers to their prayers because they are still controlled by their desires and not God's desires.
James 4:3 CJB says"Or you pray and don’t receive, because you pray with the wrong motive, that of wanting to indulge your own desires."

Even the Corinthian Christian could not receive some mighty Revelations because they were still following their desires

1 Corinthians 3:1 TLB says "Dear brothers, I have been talking to you as though you were still just babies in the Christian life who are not following the Lord but your own desires; I cannot talk to you as I would to healthy Christians who are filled with the Spirit."
When you mature as a Christian, Your desires will be united with God's desires! You won't be wanting your own way. Talking about love, the Bible says Love is not "rude. It does not demand its own way......"

When you find yourself unable to forgive, or still rude, selfish etc You are still carnal & Worldly! That's you wanting to do things your way & not God's way! Infact one translation says "You are still living & Thinking like an unbeliever!" Grown Christians do things God's way!
That's not even all, When you start comparing yourself with others that's another way to know that you are exhibiting Worldliness! Because that's where Jealousy comes from! I love how the Voice translation puts it.
"And here’s why: you are still living in the flesh, not in the Spirit. How do I know? Are you fighting with one another? Are you comparing yourselves to others and becoming consumed with jealousy?" 1 Corinthians 3:3
Just to let you know that when you start doing God's desires and God's way some may dislike you and may even call you fool, well it's good to be "God's fool".
I Love how the message Translation puts it
"Be God's fool—that's the path to true wisdom. What the world calls smart, God calls stupid. It's written in Scripture, He exposes the chicanery of the chic." 1 Corinthians 3:19
