Welcome to Fight Club
The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not Resign.

No law in this country can force you to resign – the concept does not exist.
The second rule of Fight Club is: You Do Not Resign!

Resignation is a voluntary act and there is nothing voluntary about a termination.
Third rule of Fight Club is: Do not sign any document without legal advice.

If you are forced or are under pressure to sign one, memorise this line - “Signed and submitted under protest and without prejudice to my rights”
Fourth Rule of Fight Club: Read the Law … Properly!

Start with The Working Journalists And Other Newspaper Employees (Conditions Of service) And Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1955
Fifth rule
Read your contract but know it's not above The Law

It is important to read your contract but remember your rights are guaranteed by the law. Regardless of what the contract says, you are entitled to your legal dues!
Sixth rule
Talk about your Termination

If you don’t talk it you will feel you’re alone – but you’re not.
You’ve done nothing wrong and you definitely didn’t “deserve it”.
There are others who might need support or want to fight, but don't know how.
Seventh rule: Form a group!

Five fingers make a fist and you will need to throw a lot of punches.
Fights will go on as long as they have to...so fight together. The Law is on your side.
And the eighth and final rule:
Stop using terms and words like “laid off” or “asked to go”

In our profession words make all the difference.

This is not a "Separation"

You have been unjustly and illegally terminated, retrenched, sacked!
