It's odd that people anthropomorphize political parties & see them as having values and emotions. It's like saying the Coca-Cola corporation has feelings. In practice, parties are transactional machines -- algorithms designed to serve their power inputs, which are mostly money.
Every now and again, the power inputs that parties serve are organized people. But not lately -- not much in my lifetime. I just think its strange to see them as living entities. Corporations are people, my friend...I guess.
It's like, "the party feels happy about its nominee" or "the party really cares about people." No. It's a machine. It doesn't have feelings. It doesn't have an ability to care. It's an algorithm, a machine, a means to an end. It's not the end unto itself.
