1. Mitch Trubisky showed up at training camp ready to play. That seems evident thus far.

This is a good thing.

The problem is a lot of his bad habits still haven't disappeared. Especially his lack of awareness in situational drills.

2. Nick Foles has started slower.

Nobody should be surprised. He came in ice cold with no meaningful prior work with the coaches or receivers.

That said, it sounds like his reputation for finishing strong remains very much a thing.

The #Bears should and will factor that in.
3. Thus far it seems like the running game still isn't getting the results they want.

It's early and that can change but the truth is it never felt like switch OL coaches was going to solve that issue.

Practicing against that #Bears defensive front doesn't help.
4. The Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet effect on offense is already paying off. While neither may be at All-Pro levels, it's already evident they are 2-3 steps up from where the #Bears were last season at tight end.

Both can be legitimate matchup problems.
5. One thing that can't be ignored is the jump in intensity and execution happening on offense in camp.

A big reason for that has to be the overhaul of the coaching staff. The #Bears brought in a ton of NFL veterans like Lazor, DeFilippo, and Castillo.

All of them grinders.
6. Akiem Hicks? Still that damn good. The defensive line is just different when he's on the field.

Just watch clips of how everybody is around him. The energy is at another level.

7. It wouldn't be fair to expect Bilal Nichols to be like Eddie Goldman this year.

That said, do not sleep on this kid.

He's always had talent and nose tackle might actually be a better spot for him. His lower body strength and quickness are legit.

8. It's been three padded practices and I've still yet to hear of any setbacks for Deon Bush.

In fact, reports are he's looked really good. Some of the camp highlights back this up too.

This is shaping up to be a major upset and what a great story.

9. Eddie Jackson? Two words.

Look out.

His presence is evident every day in practice. This guy is playing with a chip on his shoulder.

If the pass rush is as advertised this year, he's going to get his hands on a lot of footballs.

10. Current assessment?

Trubisky leads Foles after three practices.

Then again, Trubisky led Foles once before a year and a half ago.

And...well...you know.
