(apropos for 2020 right?!). Given the fact that Flu and #covid19 share many similar symptoms it will be difficult for your Doctor to diagnose on symptoms alone. So what?
If you see your Dr, they will want to test you for both. The problem is that rapid tests for FLU are ample, but rapid tests for COVID are hard to access ...so definitive diagnosis will rely on the 48-72 hr tests at most facilities.
We don't know if you can have BOTH infections at the same time...the % is likely low, but some early reports have suggested it is possible...so frequency of co-infection rates are yet TBD.
The hardest hit patients with FLU are young children < 2 yrs & > 65 yrs, as well as those with underlying medical conditions. Babies < 6 mos of age are too young to receive the flu vaccine and thus remain one of the highest risk age groups to suffer complications.
COVID-19 vaccine is not yet available on the US market. So what can we do?
