let's first see all the options we have who can potentially play in mid field

Barca as always are most likely to use 3 mid fielders ..

Our Holding mid fielder for over a decade ,Sergio Busquets has had a couple of very mediocre seasons .
His wages are extremely high ..and whether he is willing to take a bench role is very uncertain

If Busquets is sold FDJ will be first choice CDM and this will give a few younger players (maybe oriol ) a chance to get a few minutes and improve
Arturo Vidal is another player who must be SOLD ..he is into his mid thirties and is certainly not the player he once was ..his toxic attitude doubled with the need to be a regular starter isn't good for the clubs transition
Players like Riqui Puig and Monchu who have shown great promise ,along with new signing of Pjanic can more than cover this position
Roberto could STAY as he offers a bit of versatility..but he will definitely have to be ready to power his wage and take up a smaller role in the team ...He just isn't good enough to be a regular starter
With the arrival or pedri, the return of aleña and possible transfer of Dutch mid fielder Van De Beek..it is very unlikely that sergi Roberto will get any minutes in the mid field at all
With Gini Wijnaldum also rumoured to be on Koemans list , I don't see where some of the older players will play
My problem here is , with rakitic leaving ,and a lot of confusion about the futures of the other players ..we could end up with 12 mid fielders at the start of next season ..12 players to fill just 3 spots (maybe 4)
The pic in the previous tweet shows how 8 players are more than enough to cover all the positions with more than enough back up incase of injuries or suspensions
As for experience you've got Pjanic and De Jong(even vdb)
Now if you look at this team with Roberto Vidal and Busquets, it destroys the whole balance ..Not only will this hinder the development of out youth players but also take out a significant chunk of our wages
I believe we have enough players (youth with experience ) to get the best out of this squad without busquets Vidal and Roberto
Fdj will play majority of the games at CDM with pjanic taking his place from time to time

Puig should start in one of the more advanced mid field positions with pjanic again playing there from time to time (this way pjanic gets enough game time without taking much away from 1 particular player)
VDB is likely to arrive and the other starting position in mid field is likely to be his ..with Alena getting games from time to time
The third player in each position will get relatively lesser game time ..but will still play a decent part in the season
Oriol can take CDR games and depending on performances we can see how much game time he gets

Monchu can play CDR games and some league games as a sub ..and again his game time can be decided based on performances
Pedri on the other hand will probably not get as much game time in the mid field as I'm hoping .

Cause I believe pedri will play a more advanced role and rotate with Leo in the Number 10 position ..but he should also get games in the mid field cause I don't know how much Leo will wanna be rested
So this is my take on how the mid field should be in the upcoming season
