Friendos, if you’re not alt-texting images because you don’t know how to activate that setting or you feel uncertain about what to say in them, PLEASE reach out.
How to activate alt text, which should be a default setting: https://lifehacker.com/why-you-should-add-alt-tags-to-twitter-images-1843870634
A very brief guide to writing it: Tell me why an image is important enough to include it. Give me a highlight of what’s in it. Imagine you’re on a walk with a friend telling them about the sweet picture of a Norwegian forest cat walking in the snow that you can last night.
Some examples:
'A screenshot of text from an article. It says: TKTK'
'My cat Ember trying to sneak into the refrigerator.'
'A chart showing skyrocketing unemployment numbers over the last few months.'
'A fire bearing down on a nursing home.'

People really tie themselves up in knots over alt text, and truly, it shouldn't be stressful for you. Just take a few seconds to describe the image.
Yes, some people prefer to be extremely detailed, but you don't have to be. And remember that someone's screenreader is reading this to them. A huge block of alt text can be really annoying when you could just say 'an ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles.'
