Today marks 5 years since one of the greatest moments of my life: Jeremy Corbyn’s historic rally at Nottingham’s Albert Hall, at which I had the immense privilege of speaking.

At that point, it looked likely that Jeremy could become the next Labour leader. An atmosphere of hope, excitement, and enthusiasm about socialist politics had spread to all corners of the UK.
People queued for hours for Jeremy’s rallies. This one was no different; there wasn’t a single seat left vacant in the hall. Jeremy had to give an additional speech outside to hundreds of supporters who couldn’t make it inside.
I had the opportunity to speak about New Labour’s Islamophobia and imperialism. I explained why I believed that Jeremy could inspire those people who turned away from Labour under Blair and Brown. I was moved by the warm reception I received.
It was excellent to hear from numerous speakers, particularly @Manuel_TSSA and, of course, Jeremy himself. Everything they said resonated with me so deeply. As an 18-year-old, it was a formative experience.
That rally at the Albert Hall in 2015 was truly inspirational, and it's a night that I’ll never forget.

Here's a section of the BBC East Midlands Today report, showing how many of its attendees were moved.
