A few thoughts about college students partying as soon as they get back to campus. (thread)
It's frustrating to see some people putting themselves and others at risk. But we don't know how many students stayed in their dorms with small groups and tried to be responsible.
But there's never a situation where everybody makes the responsible choice. Not even among fully mature people, let alone young adults who are still developing impulse control.
If the plan requires 100% of people to follow the rules 100% of the time, it won't work. The question, to my mind, is whether there's a way to reduce risk enough that some bad decisions don't turn into a huge outbreak. We'll have to see. (end of thread)
