Conversations cited in court documents hint that former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick also knew and approved of the cover-up. No charges levied against him, for now.
As NPR also pointed out earlier today, Sullivan, the former Uber CSO served as a assistant US attorney, and was charged today by the same office he used to work and prosecute hackers in, a few years back.
Unpopular opinion:

These charges today will do more for corporate security practices than all the stupid hot-take articles published on infosec blogs this past decade.
