10,000 of something and just casually let things fail. At the edge you have limited ability to apply technology because of cost, as well as space. In this case my ability to #WFH has been crippled because of a lack of connectivity the lowest level of the WFH maslows hierarchy
When people ask what my role in marketing is, it’s to help organizations eliminate such mistakes. The tech on the call confirmed that this unit was already slated for replacement due to high failure rates (no one had contacted me about this).
Here we have a hardware failure in less than a year of service thats just bad. The lost productivity and gymnastics I’m having to go through to not drop the ball and let down a lot of people is really tough.
Now let’s multiply that by many more employees or many more customers and see just how damaging getting these implementations wrong can be with the edge. Your infrastructure matters especially at the edge. And that’s the good word I’ll be spreading.
Build it right- the best infrastructure for the job, the right software to deliver the industry specific needs, services and supply chain that don’t leave your customers out in the cold, and an ecosystem to support it and layer in value. Let’s go #findyouredge
