California is burning cuz of capitalism, colonization, the culling of native animal & plant species, the invasion of non native plants, and the fact that we have been relying on slave labor to fight these fires. Global warming is the direct result of colonization & capitalism.
We must listen & amplify Native voices, specific California Natives regarding these fires, our relatives will know what to do. We need to restore power & land management to Native People or we are all doomed. Your way is failing, it is killing us all.
If you really didn't know prisoners have been being exploited & used to fight wild fires now you know. Part of the reason this is so outta control right now is we cannot use that "workforce" due to Covid. The prison system is a result of colonization & is modern day slavery!

The point I am making is that our choices impact the environment, our choices lead to climate change, these fires are a result of climate change & poor land stewardship. Our reliance on prisoners to fight these fires each year for $1/hr is absurd, it is slavery & unsustainable!
We expect people we strip of their rights, humanity & futures to save our asses from the flames yearly. These people aren't even eligible to be firemen upon release. Most are non violent offenders in for theft & drugs, instead of helping we imprison them & exploit their labor!
The capitalism of which I speak directly responsible for many of these fires is from PG&E, pollution by corporations, deforestation & overdevelopment of land for businesses & housing, and straight up terrible stewardship of the land by the state & residents alike.
