Most of the young people we support get their asylum applications accepted eventually. However because of the hostile environment it can take several attempts. In between claims young people can end up with no recourse to public funds. https://www.freemovement.org.uk/what-is-the-no-recourse-to-public-funds-condition/ @_KRAN_ #nrpf
What no recourse to public funds (or NRPF) means in short is that young people are turfed out of their accommodation and don't have access to any benefits. But they aren't allowed to work either, leaving them in a precarious and vulnerable position @_KRAN_
When young people have no recourse to public funds @_KRAN_ is one of the few places where they can access help. We have a destitution fund that offers support to those with nowhere else to go. We are incredibly proud to be able to do that. https://kran.org.uk/projects/destitution-fund/
