UBI or as Yang often calls it, “freedom dividends” would re-legitimize American capitalism by obtaining the consent of its “losers” in the age of automation & globalization. Empower temporal losers to re-enter the marketplace of experiments.

William F. Buckley asked him if he wasn’t worried about people taking the money and neglecting their children, etc. Friedman responded: “If we give them the money, we will strengthen their responsibility.”
