The first time I ever went Kayaking, I didn’t even wait to listen to instructions, I just jumped into the Kayak and sailed off with my partner who was also a learner. A few minutes later we found ourselves in the middle of the Lagoon in Benin Republic. 
The second time I went kayaking again it was also in Benin Republic, I thought I had become a pro from my previous experience, turned out it was a lie. My partner and I got stuck in the bushes, they had to use a boat to drag us out
The 3rd time, I also thought I had perfected how to kayak. We were on another http://Wakawaka.ng tour of Benin & this time I was even teaching people how to Kayak. When it got to my turn, I hastily jumped inside the thing & it shifted. That’s how I landed inside water 
I eventually realized that I was the problem. Kayaking is not one of those hyper activities that involves a lot of adrenaline and ginger. It is an activity that involves you calming down

So a few weeks ago, @deramoneyy organized a kayaking hangout in Lagos and I went for it. Let’s just say, it was my first kayaking experience without incident . The only thing that changed was that I had finally learnt to calm my excitement and just paddle

The biggest proof that anyone could actually become a good Kayaker from the first try is @taiwo___. She also came for the kayaking hangout above, it was her first time but after the initial tutorial, she got a grasp of the whole thing. You’d think she had been kayaking for years.
Now the beautiful thing about Kayaking is that you don’t always have to paddle, sometimes you just chill in the Kayak and let the water take you around. See @UnclePamilerin here pressing his phone while “kayaking”
