The @mbrrace report on the impact of #COVID19 on maternal deaths was released today:

"It was evident that changes to service provision as a
direct consequence of the pandemic meant that women were not able to access appropriate mental health care...
...Receipt of the specialist care they needed may have prevented their deaths."

We must protect the provision of high-quality specialist perinatal mental health care, now more than ever. #EveryonesBusiness
Other significant contributors to maternal mortality at the moment are redeployment of obstetric staff to non-maternity work and lack of safeguarding for women suffering domestic violence. This pandemic is not going away and we have to find a way to do better.
