The Purna-Kalasha is considered a symbol of abundance and "source of life" - Vedas.Base of metal pot represents Prithvi (Earth), the expanded centre - Ap (water), neck of pot - Agni (fire), the opening of the mouth - Vayu (air), and the coconut and mango leaves - Akasha (aether).
Prana Prathishtapana - simply infusing life into the idol which is going to be worshipped ! One of the most intricate moments where you actually chant that your life and soul is one with the God. (Pic from last year Ganesha !!)
Abhishekam - giving a bath to the God ! Water, milk, curd, butter, sugar, ghee and honey ! Followed by application of Sandalpaste.
Naivedyam - Feeding the God with the choicest of snacks - Modakas and other sweets and a variety of fruits !
Garike Pooja - Pooja with grass blades !
Aarti can be an expression of many things including love, benevolence, gratitude, prayers, or desires submitted to God.
