The religious significance behind the tying up of Mango leaves "Thorana" at the doors of a House’s entrance is to welcome Gods. Its said that Lakshmi Devi resides in Mango leaves which denotes Mangalam. Mango leaves are also used for Kalashasthapana. #Gowriganeshafestival
The Purna-Kalasha is considered a symbol of abundance and "source of life" - Vedas.Base of metal pot represents Prithvi (Earth), the expanded centre - Ap (water), neck of pot - Agni (fire), the opening of the mouth - Vayu (air), and the coconut and mango leaves - Akasha (aether).

Abhishekam - giving a bath to the God ! Water, milk, curd, butter, sugar, ghee and honey ! Followed by application of Sandalpaste.
Naivedyam - Feeding the God with the choicest of snacks - Modakas and other sweets and a variety of fruits !
Garike Pooja - Pooja with grass blades !
