When Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Darien, Wisconsin, yesterday to give a campaign speech at Tankcraft Corporation, his backup nuclear "Football"—being held here by a White House Military Office Coast Guard aide—came along for the ride on Air Force Two.
Like the primary version of the "Football," which accompanies Trump 24/7, the contents of this ~45-lb. briefcase would enable Pence—in the event Trump is incapacitated or dies—to order the use of any or all of our ~1,750 deployed nuclear weapons after he is sworn in as president.
Here are two additional rare sightings of Vice President Pence's nuclear "Football" being carried, as best I can tell, by the same Coast Guard aide as yesterday: in Tampa, Florida (left), on August 5, and in Des Moines, Iowa (right), on May 8.
