To those who consider yourselves frequent Twitter users:

-do you any of you consider yourself a natural optimist?

-if so, has being on here helped or hurt that?

I’m tryna see something LOL
I’m asking because...I naturally lean more toward optimism.

Twitter takes a ton of energy not just bc news is grim but because perpual cynicism seems to be how you win at Twitter. Constructive critique isn’t ever wrong, but the constant unbalanced *cynicsm* is draining for me.
Still I’ve learned so much over the years from people who really push and evolve my mindsets in real time and from marginalized folks with life experiences I don’t have, so I stay.

But being a naturally more joyful, optimistic person is hard on here.
H a r d.
*perpetual cynicism.

🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
To be clear, I naturally lean toward optimism bc that’s just who I am.

Being a person deeply concerned with justice and oppression has never harmed my optimism bc I intentionally study the folks who build a better world. Our strength keeps me optimistic.
It’s why *cyniscm* depresses me. Because it does nothing to build.

I want righteous revolution that dismantles the harmful and faith and freedom that builds what’s right.

Not cynicism that tears down everything-the good, the bad, and the evolving-and leaves us ruins.
