A thread inspired by this text I just received.
When we said that the self-contradictory arguments for abortion on demand would lead to calls for sex-selective abortion, eugenics and infanticide, the world called us alarmist fundamentalists and many in the Church were ashamed of us.
When we said that the trans movement’s reduction of womanhood to social preferences and physical attributes would lead to a reemergence of misogyny, I remember being called all sorts of words for idiot by people on different sides.
When our parents saw folks being made social & political pariah’s for stating controversial opinions, and losing their jobs whether or not their beliefs would affect their work, they warned that there was a creeping attack on free speech.
They were accused of wanting to offend.
When our grandparents said the sexual revolution would lead to broken homes & hearts, they were being wet blankets and fuddy duddies and squares, and whatever other cutsie old words which have now sadly been replaced.
And when we saw the elevation of consent to being the SOLE gate/barrier to sex, and saw artists and film makers laying the path... we said that paedophilia would journey under the invisibility cloak of taboo, to being normalised under gradual social changes.
We were called disgusting for even thinking of it.
The fact of the matter is that ideas have consequences. Netflix didn’t just magic this up - name a company with its finger more firmly on the cultural pulse than Netflix.

We, as a culture, ordered this program.
The things that make you ‘a little uncomfortable’ now WILL grow if allowed to take root.
That’s how ideas work.
Ideas have consequences.
As Christians we need to find our voice again, and leaders you need to model yourselves on the men of Issacher in 1 Chronicles 12: who understood the times and knew what God’s people had to do.
