Macronutrients are large quantities of nutrients that your body needs to sustain itself to live.

You've probably heard of the 3 main macros
-Fats
-Carbs
-Protein

But did you know....
1.
Fats don't actually make you fat.

-Diets high in fat compared to carbs aid in fat loss.
-Fat consumption helps against neurodegenerative diseases.
-Fats are anti-inflammatory.
Mono & polyunsaturated fats>Saturated fat sources.

Eg. Avocados, Nuts, a few plant oils.
2.
Carbohydrates, in essence, is our energy source.

-You don't need carbs to survive.
-Carbs are your friend when it comes to fat loss or building muscle.
-Simple carbs are addictive, caution is advised.
Cruciferous + Complex carbs>Processed carbs

Eg. Broccoli, Leafy greens.
3.
Protein is available in plant sources.

-High protein diets keep you fuller longer.
-Protein is food for your muscles.
-Protein has the highest thermic effect(longest time to breakdown) compared to fats and carbs.
Natural protein sources> Steroids👀🤦‍♂️

Eg. Lean meat, Legumes.
