I performed an experiment this week to see if planning stuff using productivity tools (Pomodoro timer, Trello board, Todoist app) was really helpful or not. The results of this experiment have been quite surprising and I'd like to share them in this LONG thread here

SOME CONTEXT: First things first, this week was very hectic since I had to manage a huge load of academics and assignments and the 100 days of code challenge at the same time. Added to that I started getting back to dance (which I abandoned during the lockdown)........
...since I saw that my physical health was deteriorating. So I knew on the very first day of this week that I had an enormous challenge ahead of me.
THE CHALLENGE:
I came across the Pomodoro method while reading an article. I was always skeptical about trying it out since 25 minutes of work seemed too less and 2-3 hours of
continuous work seemed more like a productive session to me......

But for reasons still unknown to me, I challenged myself to try it out for this week, coupled with two
other things that I never used before - a Trello board and the Todoist app.

YOUR TIME STARTS NOW:
So I began the week by listing out all the work that I had to get done on the Trello board and made a to do list for the next day! To be honest, this
activity made me so anxious since there was so much work to get done!! But I kept at it....

After all it was a challenge and 100 days of code already taught me that
if you keep at it even when you don't feel like it, you will be surprised by the results.

ENOUGH TALKING, HERE ARE THE RESULTS:
1) I got almost 90% of my work done by today itself(And today is Thursday!! Yayy!!!!Now I can code how much ever I want during the weekend.)
2) I felt productive throughout the day since I took regular breaks(thanks to the Pomodoro timer)...

and worked when I had to(without giving any excuses).
3) I could allot time to learning about something new (SVGs) every day, even if it was just for 20 minutes...

4) I saved the best things for the last--->I scored amazingly well in an online quiz that happened today and finished submitting all of this week's assignments(Tears of joy!!!)

FINISHING IT UP:
I cannot guarantee that you will start seeing results on using these tools as fast as I could see them. But one important lesson I learnt is never dismiss off
something as not your cup of tea even before trying it.

I'm surely using the Pomodoro timer, Trello boards and the Todoist apps from now on. They have showed
me a new way to survive without getting anxious about the work at hand.

I'd like to add that even though I scheduled things that were to be done during the day, I didn't allot the time when I would start doing them or when I would end them.
Because that is just not me. I like doing things when I feel like doing them(which can be bad sometimes!)...

But I followed this and still got my work done for the day. If this method doesn't work for you, that's alright! Feel free to adopt the one that does work for you!!
That's it from me! This was my longest thread ever. This could have actually been an article but I was so excited to share what I learnt that I started writing this
as soon as I saw my quiz results
