Are you an artist looking for work?
Are you easy to contact by e-mail?

I looked at some social media profiles today, and from a client's point of view some of these artists were difficult to contact.
They're doing themselves a big disservice.

Some things to look out for:
You don't need to have an e-mail address right in your Twitter, Instagram or Artstation bio.
But then you need to link a website URL (or different profile) there, on which your e-mail is easy to find!
Make sure your profile isn't a dead end.
DMs are not always preferable.
From a client POV: I might not have a profile on the platform & I can't be bothered to sign up to send just 1 DM.
Furthermore, I'm afraid you might not see my DM, bc so many are used for dubious purposes (spam, phishing links, dick pics)...
... and the platform algorithm could hide my message from you even if I do my best to get my serious inquiry across.
With e-mail you may be easier to reach!
On Instagram, if you use only an e-mail button: Be aware that it might not show up in a browser.

From a client POV: I like to use the Instagram browser version – bigger images, you can open several tabs, it's easier to browse than on the phone.
But I don't see e-mail buttons on Instagram in the browser. Only the bio, and website link.

So make sure you link to an external site where your email is easy to find (or spell the email out in the bio) on Instagram.
Lastly: is your email address easy to find on your website?
Ideally, you want to make it absolutely unmissable and prominently featured.
If you're using a contact form, PLEASE provide your email address along with it, too!
Many clients do not like contact forms because...
... we might not know if they're really gonna work, and then our message is lost, and unlike with email programs, no draft is saved!
We also like to have a record of our email in a "Sent" folder. Contact forms don't provide that.
