We have seen a surge in attacks since the coronavirus outbreak affecting those of Chinese descent and other East/Southeast Asian descent. Since January 2020, I have seen reports of really awful cases of physical violence, vandalism, racist abuse and more.
These have occurred in London, Blackburn, Dublin, Glasgow, Hertfordshire, Southampton, Chesterfield, New York...the list goes on.
@stophateuk "received an increasing number of calls, across our helpline areas, from people experiencing racism, discrimination and verbal abuse, arising from perceptions that they are members of the Chinese community and therefore likely to be carriers of the coronavirus"
These incidents are just the tip of the iceberg. One in seven people in the UK say they avoid people of Chinese appearance or origin.

Almost three quarters of people of East and Southeast Asian descent have experienced being called a racial slur. This comes at absolutely no surprise to me.
