“The Met’s approach to live #FacialRecognition is different to the South Wales Police cases which were appealed.”

This is of course true, because the Met uses it to target black communities. https://twitter.com/Technology_NS/status/1296130072156540930
It's well known #FacialRecognition tech can't tell black people apart - meaning they're more likely to be misidentified, stopped, questioned & searched.

Yet time and again the Met chooses to use it in ethnically diverse areas like Stratford and events like Notting Hill Carnival.
"We use the latest accurate algorithm" they say.

Court said in our #FacialRecognition win that all police should do everything they can to make sure the tech doesn't discriminate.

Have they? Can't just take the manufacturer's word for it.
Disproportionate police surveillance is most keenly felt by already over-policed communities.

#FacialRecognition tech isn't destined for the streets of Kensington.

And making it more accurate would only make over-policing more efficient, making this problem worse.
