I went to bed last night in tears. I saw the post about the @DailyMailUK FB comments were PEOPLE were being gleeful and expressing joy at the death of a young refugee. This is no longer something we can put under labels of Brexit, Politics or Immigration - THIS IS PURE HATE.

Hate that PEOPLE are walking around with and justifying to each other in open public and civil spaces - the digital space is both of those things. And both our gov’t and media see nothing wrong it captialising and encouraging it. This is a deep corrosion of societal values...

And many know what that hate looks like and how it plays out systemically, politically and personally. What we are witnessing in this country is not a repeat of history. It is a new form of hate. PEOPLE use their inventiveness not just for good technological advances...

It can be used systemically to create new corrupt ideologically structures and behaviour on the street too. WHAT IS A COUNTRY BECOMING WHEN EVEN ONE OF IT’S CITIZENS WITNESSES WITH GLEE AT THE DEATH OF A CHILD? How is a newspaper that is still in mainstream production allow it?

And what is the end game? A racist system? We have that. A society emboldened by the racist policies of it’s gov’t? We have that. A society that doesn’t care for its elders, the youngest, it’s sick or it’s poor? We have that. A country that does not care for it’s history?...

Nor for people that write it’s literature or make it’s art? We have that. A country whose press/media act as propaganda machines more interested in profits than the HATE it is manufacturing? We have that. A country that believes only it’s unique form of Nationalism will save it?

Fascism, Apartheid, Genocide are not just words. They are the result of PEOPLE who HATE getting into power. It is the full and utter corrosion of a country starting with the corrosion of the soul. Starting with laughing at dead children. Starting with the deportation of people...

I am sorry for this doom and gloom but I am scared. I am scared that some of us can’t see where this will end. I am scared that some of us don’t care. I am scared that some want A COUNTRY SYMBOLISED BY HATE. I am scared there’s not enough of us who go to bed crying about this...

THIS IS NO LONGER A ‘WAIT UNTIL NEXT ELECTION’ THING. It is unacceptable for FB pages like that to exist anywhere in society. This is not a practise run. A Tory gov’t problem. A result of Brexit. This is a country that is fast corroding it’s soul. WHAT HAVE WE BECOME?

And if the WE makes you uncomfortable or you want to shout ‘not my country! ’or ‘not my gov’t!’ Think again. As long as you’re living here, paying tax, eating food, buying clothes or houses, working, walking the streets, watching the news/TV shows, you are implicit. It is WE.

WE ARE THE PEOPLE. We share this country with people who laugh at a dying babies. In this country. And the gov’t and the press are going to do nothing about it. They are not interested in souls. They are invested in corruption and corrosion. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

And the first place to start is to throw all the stereotypes about who perpetuates HATE AND RACISM IN THIS COUNTRY...it is not just about the young dis-affected White working classes, or the ‘football loving gammons’, or the ‘doesn’t know what they’re saying grand dad/mother’...

It is being perpetuated in the highest offices of this country, by the richest, by those have read widely, by so-called eminent historians, by the loudest feminists and the most learned academics. We are looking in the wrong places and blaming the wrong people because MEDIA!!!
