I'll be comparing FPL points per game for a few FPL defenders and midfielders from last season which are around the 5.0 to 7.5 price mark this season to see where the best value lies!
I'll be looking at 3 categories budget mid price and premium.

Lets start with the budget price bracket by looking at ASM (5.5), Soucek (5.0), Tierney (5.5) and Aurier (5.5)
Soucek scored 3.55 points per game.
ASM scored 4.45 points per game.
Tierney scored 3.83 points per game.
Aurier scored 4.14 points per game.

In the mid priced bracket I've chosen to compare Doherty (6.0) and VVD (6.5) with Maddison (7.0) and Grealish (7.0)
Grealish scored 4.14 points per game
Maddison scored 4.28 points per game
Doherty scored 5.29 points per game
VVD scored 4.68 points per game

Greenwood had the least amount of minutes but played well in most games FPL wise. Doherty stands out for me 
And in the Premium bracket I'll compare Pulisic (8.5) and Son (9.0) with TAA (7.5) and Robertson (7.0) (No point looking at KDB and Salah because we know who will be best!)

The player that stands out for me is Doherty. Averaging more ppg than Robertson whilst being jn a weaker side and he won't have European football next season!

If you try and squish a midfielder around the 7.0/7.5 bracket and you don't fancy Greenwood just go for Doherty
