Blake Jarwin.

This is for all 12 of us on the Blake Jarwin TE1 bandwagon, and to hopefully bring more on, because there is plenty of room.

A Thread.
In 2019 the Cowboys had a total of 576 targets distributed among 12 players. Typically an NFL team will concentrate appx 70% of their total targets into their top 5 pass catchers. The Cowboys targeted their top 5 receivers 81% (!!) of the time in 2019.
Here is how those targets broke down:

Amari Cooper: 119 targets
Michael Gallup: 113 targets
Randall Cobb: 83 targets
Jason Witten: 83 targets
Ezekiel Elliot: 71 targets

The Cowboys also have the most vacated targets (190) in the NFL between Cobb, Witten and Tavon Austin
Blake Jarwin was targeted 41 times in 2019 and finished with a 31/365/3 line and was top 10 in important efficiency metrics such as yds/tgt, catch rate, and fantasy pts/pass route per @rotounderworld
The Cowboys targeted the TE position 126 times in 2019. As the unquestioned starting TE for the Cowboys, who is also being paid like it (10th highest TE contract value in the NFL). Blake Jarwin should be expected to see AT LEAST 65% of those targets right? 82 targets at least.
If you took his career yds/rec (11.6) and career catch% (75.3%) and added 2 TDs to the 3 he has caught in ‘18 and ‘19 you are looking at 132 fantasy points in half PPR scoring. For those keeping score at home, that would have been good enough to finish 2019 as the TE8!!
Some might question Jarwin’s pedigree. To that I say there have been plenty of undrafted players who have succeeded in the NFL. This guy has been an underdog since high school, and all he has ever done is proven absolutely everyone wrong for nearly a decade.
He was an undersized OL in HS, received zero FBS offers, walked on at Oklahoma State, became a starter, got a scholarship, named first team all big 12, went undrafted, then recently made himself one of the top paid tight ends in the NFL.
I will leave the doubting of Blake Jarwin up to everyone else and enjoy his TE1 season with the last pick of my draft.
