XXXTENTACION & Drake Beef (a thread)
In January Drake previewed a track that would soon be featured on his mixtape at an Amsterdam show on his “Boy Meets World Tour” (audio removed for copyright reasons)
Fans immediately noticed similarities between this song and X’s “Look At Me” that had been blowing up that month.

Drake Previewed the song in more areas and ignored the backlash he was receiving. (February)
Drake then dropped the song titled “KMT” on March 18, 2017 along with his mixtape “More Life”
Rumors that drake “didn’t know” X so here is a series of tweets X made regarding that.
Drake responded to the rumors of him stealing X’s flow and cadence stating “i see where people could draw that comparison”
This Mashup also went viral showing how this could’ve easily been a collab and an opportunity for Drake to uplift a new artist instead of completely ignoring his existence
X then discussed how he felt about the situation when asked in an interview (March 30, 2017)

The Dj X is referring to is Carnage
Carnage has confirmed that X was a topic in one of him and Drake’s conversations and he indeed knew X.
On April 5, 2017 X expressed his dislike of X speaking Patois and use of Dancehall elements in his mixtape in an interview with Dj Akademik
On June 7, 2017 X was knocked out by an associate of one of his rivals, Drake was seen liking shady tweets about the situation

After all of this the beef died down and seemed to be forgotten until Drake dropped a music video for “God’s Plan”
In the Music Video Drake gave out almost $1 Million to people, charities, shelters and more. X felt this was weird because Drake had never done anything like this til a month after X started his challenge (post from February 18, 2018)
X later made this video and shared his reflection on the situation (February 19, 2018)

On May 26, 2018 Drake dropped “Im Upset”. These lyrics were assumed to be a diss at X
This is a diss at Kanye saying he keeps his face out of his nudes so he can’t get exposed like Ye did.
People also believe Drake had something to do with X’s death because of a scene in the Sicko Mode Video, this is invalid. A featured artist is never granted the ability to make changes to a music video. Here is Ski replying to someone tagging him about it
Drake being involved would not add up especially because evidence that X had a conversation a week before his death.
According to Dj Akademik, before X passed, Drake & X formed a mutual respect for eachother and could’ve formed an alliance.
