Hi, I am not generally considered racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or ableist. People comment to me often how respectful I am of their challenges and how good I am at not discrimination so I want to help you all do it.

It's really simple, treat all people as people.
Before you do or say something think: "how will this effect other people, will a member of a disadvantaged minority be hurt by this". Then, if you make a mistake and hurt someone listen to their concerns, apologise and try like hell to not do it again.
You will make mistakes, you might be unthinkingly racist, or automatically ableist; we all make mistakes. Just be sorry and resolve to not do it again. You might make the same mistake more than once, just be sorry and resolver to not do it again. What is important is intent.
With the intent to do better eventually you will, you CAN stop hurting people the world is treading on. That's the important thing.

Oh and the other important thing, if you are called out (or called in) on your mistakes own them and apologise.
For the love of all that matters in the universe NEVER get angry at someone when you are in the wrong or even if you only MIGHT be in the wrong. When someone with less privilege than you says you did or said something wrong listen to them. People with privilege can't see it.
People with privilege often can't see what they have done wrong, cannot see that their language or actions are hurtful. That is why you need to listen when those with less privilege than you tell you what you did is wrong; because you can't see it.

Those people you hurt matter
I am not particularly privileged. However, I am still aware that there are people who have it worse than me. When I disrespect someone who is less privileged than me, even in a small way, it tears my heart out. That is why I don't do it twice.
(an aside, I am sure any second now some troll will pop into my mentions to tell me that I am racist against white people. I would like to preemptively say that being anti-racist is not the same as being "anti-white" before I get attacked)
