Gabriel Magalhães is set to have his Arsenal medical tomorrow. ( @DuncanCastles)

TELEGRAPH EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal are close to signing Lille central defender Gabriel Magalhaes for a fee of 25 million euros (£22.6million). A five-year deal was finally agreed with the 22-year-old on Wednesday. ( @TelegraphSport)

Napoli also agreed a fee for Gabriel Magalhaes but he chose to join Arsenal instead where he will be paired with fellow Brazilian David Luiz. ( @TelegraphSport)

Jose Fonte (Gabriel’s teammate): “We have to understand that every players dream is to play in the Premier League. He [Maghãeles] has been asking questions about the Premier League, he has been asking about teams in the Premier League”

Napoli are in advanced negotiations for Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Sokratis’ Greek compatriot Kostas Manolas is urging him to join Napoli. (Tuttosport)

Arsenal are said to be demanding only €30-35m for Alexandre Lacazette, but Juventus could still find a better agreement if they can do a swap deal. ( @cmdotcom)

Arteta: "I am very positive about where we are. I don't know if we are ahead of schedule, obviously if you had told me that we were going to win the cup before we joined then I probably would be happy with that"

Arteta: "What I am very positive & very passionate & encouraged about is what we can do in the future & if we make the right decisions I am super confident that we can bring the club back to the top"
